EZ TAG Express takes the hassle out of paying on Houston-area toll roads. Save time and skip the cash line! Simply download, set up your account with your vehicle and payment information, and get on the road. An EZ TAG Express account lets you use the designated EZ TAG lanes on Houston-area toll roads, and throughout the state of Texas.
EZ TAG Express is a new type of account and is only available within the mobile app.
Highlights:
• Quick and easy account setup
• You do not need to buy a traditional EZ TAG
• Toll history available within the app
• With EZ TAG Express you pay the standard cash rate (non-tag rate)
• Works on all toll roads throughout Texas

Suddenly cannot make a payment, manual or automatic. Triple checked that all my payment info is correct and up-to-date. Looking at other reviews, it seems this has been happening for at least a week and HCTRA had been aware of it for at least 5 days. When the entire purpose of an app is to make payments, how can I give it anything more than the lowest possible rating until it's fixed?

Very easy to use, and perfect for me because I only travel on toll roads once in a while. It is so nice to be able to go through the EZ Tag lane in whatever car I am traveling in. If I know I am going to travel on a toll road, I just open the app, activate whichever vehicle I am traveling in, and go! This is great for people who don't travel on toll roads enough to get an EZ Tag, like me. I hope this app is here to stay!

For an app claiming to make things easier, it sure makes things difficult. Full requirement list: set up auto pay, have the phone in your car while driving. And yet, it constantly forgets who I am, forgets or declines my credit card (without merit), or simply doesn't work and I get mailed a bill by the state. Needs a lot of work.

Tolling is based on the license plate information for the active vehicle on your EZ TAG Express account. Your phone does not need to be in your vehicle for this to work. Please verify your active vehicle information is up to date before driving on the tollways. To dispute billing charges please contact us directly at www.hctra.org/HelpAndSupport.
